And unto us a phone is born...

Well, Celia just couldn't resist: she visited our local Apple Store to see the magnificent child born to us this day. (Um, I'm talking about the iPhone...) She joined the three (million?) wise men who just had to see it on day one. Fortunately this store didn't draw as large a crowd as the New York stores.

Her verdict? Well, she didn't buy one. And she probably won't any time in the near future. She did get to play with it and both called and texted me to try it out. (The text message said the keyboard is "EXASPERATING" and apparently it took several minutes just to type that one word—recall that Mossberg's review said. after three days using the keyboard he wanted to throw the thing in the garbage!)

Suffice to say, the virtual keyboard (including its separate ABC/123/punctuation modes), coupled with the lack of Flash support, were sufficient to put her off the idea that she had to have this phone.
