And I thought he was the patron saint of aspirin for children...
Cari Luna is a Jewish (by heritage) Buddhist (by choice) from Brooklyn. When offers to buy her house kept falling through, she and her husband tried something unusual: turning to the patron saint of home sellers and buyers, St. Joseph.
According to The Wall Street Journal, in this difficult real estate market, people will apparently try almost anything to get their house sold. Even burying statues of St. Joseph in their yards. Read the article and the accompanying "help page" on the Catholic Forum web site for details. (Given local regulations about removal of embedded underground tanks from your property when you transfer ownership, I wonder if there are laws about digging up St. Joseph before moving.)

Awesome! Google AdSense has detected the subject of this post and inserted ads promoting "St. Joseph's kits" for frustrated home sellers. Isn't technology wonderful?

People are stoopid!! If you want to sell your house, you'd do better by baking something with cinnamon just prior to your open house. And try having everything in good working order. And try not painting your walls a bold color that some will like and some will hate. Pick neutral colors. Read some studies on what sells and what doesn't. Superstition is for morans.
